My sharpening device, which was created by a haircutting scissor maker in Japan, was made in order to maintain original factory convex edge rake curve cure without carving too much into the blade. I spend time to look at the blades through a x8 magnifying loop to better see the peak of blade and diagnose the problems and condition. I take minimal time, about 30 minutes on each pair include tuning up sharpness and balance just like a sensitive music instrument.
